Matthew Pacella
Matthew R. Pacella currently serves as General Counsel and Operating Partner to a variety of technology companies and is an investor and partner at Auctus Capital Partners. Mr. Pacella’s portfolio includes VikingPeak Energy, a renewable energy facility development platform company, Ecogensus, a waste to energy technology company and @RISK Technologies, a cyber SaaS company, and Listing 2 Leasing, a real estate SaaS company that he cofounded. Mr. Pacella assists the companies with structuring major strategic relationships, license arrangements and investment activity and provides counsel on a variety of other initiatives.
Prior to his work as an entrepreneur, Mr. Pacella served as Special Counsel at Jenner & Block in Chicago, where he helped to establish Jenner’s private equity practice with several other colleagues, and as an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago, where he primarily worked in the private equity space. During his time at Jenner and Kirkland, Mr. Pacella represented private equity funds and the portfolio companies, large privately held companies and a variety of other clients regarding business development strategies, complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, going-private transactions, joint ventures, divestitures, private financing transactions, recapitalizations and restructurings, and in related corporate governance, executive compensation and general corporate matters. Representative clients included Thoma Bravo, KKR, Evergreen Pacific Partners, HIG Capital, Prairie Capital, Chicago Growth Partners, Water Street Healthcare Partners, Technology Crossover Ventures and Merge Healthcare Inc.
Mr. Pacella graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. and magna cum laude from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. While at Georgetown, Mr. Pacella spent time working in London at GE Capital in the Working Capital Solutions division and in Washington, D.C. at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in the Enforcement division. Mr. Pacella lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife Laine.
