Dan Schaffer

Dan Schaffer is an Associate at Auctus Capital Partners, supporting M&A advisory, equity raises and debt financings for companies spanning a broad array of industries.

Dan brings noteworthy professional experience and expertise across a range of focus areas, from science to law to corporate finance. Most recently, he worked at Ocean Tomo, an IP-focused merchant bank, where he advised companies of all sizes on IP-driven M&A and valuation of technologies as diverse as telecommunications / semiconductors, software, medical devices, and biotechnology. Dan also supported investment screening and due diligence efforts at Driehaus Private Equity, after practicing patent law and working in drafting and prosecuting patent applications across an array of technologies. He began his career in life sciences, with involvement in laboratory investigations that spanned genetics, cancer, and depression.

Dan holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a JD from the University of Michigan Law School, and an MS (biotechnology) and BS (molecular biology and genetics), both from Northwestern University.
